Common Questions About Equine Gestalt Coaching
Resources FAQs
Do I need experience with horses to participate in the Fear Guide?
No prior experience with horses is needed. The Fear Guide is designed for people who are new to equine-assisted coaching as well as those who have some familiarity with horses. What matters most is a willingness to show up honestly and engage with the process. Sarabeth Weber, a Certified Equine Gestalt Coach trained through the two-year Touched by a Horse® program, guides every session and creates a safe, structured environment so that working alongside a 1,200-pound animal feels grounded rather than overwhelming. What sets the Fear Guide apart from standard talk therapy for anxiety?
Talk therapy works primarily through conversation and cognitive understanding. The Fear Guide uses the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method®, a somatic approach that engages the body and nervous system directly. Horses respond to your authentic emotional state in real time, providing non-judgmental feedback that bypasses cognitive defenses. This makes the experience especially useful for people who already understand their fear patterns intellectually but have not been able to shift them through conversation alone. The work happens outdoors at the barn in Hillsborough, NC, not in a clinical office setting. What should I wear and bring to a session at the barn?
Closed-toed shoes are required for all visitors; sandals and open-toed footwear are not permitted for safety reasons. Sessions take place outdoors under a covered barn, so dress in weather-appropriate layers. The barn is equipped with fans and heaters, but conditions can vary, and comfortable, practical clothing will help you stay focused. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. When you arrive at the Hillsborough location, park in the designated area and a staff member will meet you to walk you down to the barn.Is the Fear Guide a single session or part of a longer program?
The Fear Guide can be experienced as a standalone session or as part of a broader coaching journey. Stable Support Coaching offers individual 90-minute sessions as well as 3-session bundles and 3-month transformational packages that combine sessions with weekly phone calls and ongoing coaching work. The right format depends on where you are in your process and what kind of support will help you build lasting confidence. Pricing for individual sessions starts at $200 for an introductory rate, with a standard rate of $250 per session. What qualifies Sarabeth Weber to lead the Fear Guide?
Sarabeth Weber is the owner of Stable Support Coaching LLC and a Certified Equine Gestalt Coach, credentialed through the two-year Touched by a Horse® program founded by Melissa Pierce. Her background includes 13 years as a stay-at-home mom and professional experience in education, which informs the grounded, empathetic way she approaches coaching. Stable Support Coaching is a member of the Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce and has been featured in the Orange County newspaper. What does the horse actually do during a Fear Guide session?
Horses are highly attuned to emotional states and respond to what a person is genuinely feeling, not what they say they are feeling. During a Fear Guide session, the equine partner acts as an intuitive presence that reflects your emotional reality back to you without judgment. This creates moments of immediate awareness that are difficult to access through conversation alone. The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® uses these interactions as the foundation for somatic work, helping clients recognize fear in the body and begin to move through it in a way that creates lasting change rather than temporary relief. How do I find the barn when I arrive for my appointment?
Stable Support Coaching is located in Hillsborough, NC and operates by appointment only. When you arrive, park in the designated parking area and a staff member will meet you to escort you down to the barn. Arriving 15 minutes before your session is required, both for safety and to give you time to settle before the session begins. Specific directions and arrival details are provided when you book your appointment.
